Speaking Truth to Life

The Marriage Project comes from the knowledge that strong and stable families are the foundation of our communities.  The project works with couples planning to get married.  This initiative is structured to do several things some of which are as follows:

1.      Asses the needs of low income and broken families

2.      Put together an action plan for each

3.      Match these families with faith based groups in their area for family                   mentoring

4.      Oversee the progress

Our main areas of concern are be the 3 E’s, Employment, Education, and Empowerment (spiritual and psychological well being).  Issues regarding food, clothing, and shelter are addressed as needed.  All of the couples go through Premarital, Family, and Financial counseling.  Once a couple finishes their different phases of counseling they are paired up with another married couple with a similar family structure as their to be their marriage mentors.  The mentors meet with their couples at least once a month and call or email each other every week.

In doing our research we found most programs include a multitude of curriculum however they only work with the couples through the duration of the class.  This program continues for three years after the couples get married.

This program is meant to help couples.   All couples who successfully complete the counseling will be eligible to use the services of the affiliate partners for free and discounted services to make there wedding day even more memorable and significant.  Although the wedding is one day and the marriage is a lifetime. The thought is the more value and relevance we put on that day the more thought will go into making the marriage work.

To participate in the program you must register by filling out the form here on the website. The fee is $150 per couple ( payment plan and scholarships available if needed). Now on to the good stuff!
